How porcelain veneers are made

After your digital smile design is agreed, the dentist removes a very thin layer of enamel — typically 0.3–0.7mm, less than the thickness of a fingernail — to make room for the veneer so it sits flush. Impressions or a digital scan go to the in-house laboratory, where a master ceramist builds each veneer by hand. Temporaries protect the teeth while the finals are crafted.
